(focus) DTS YWAM Rotterdam

In general, the Discipleship Training School was born from a vision and a need. The vision is to see young people who are passionate for Jesus to go from every nation to every nation to: preach the Gospel, heal the sick and proclaim the Kingdom of God. The need is to have a firm foundation of character, Biblical literacy and international missions training. It is 6 months fulltime and there is a strong focus on intimacy with God and character development. That is what makes this school unique! And you will not only receive training in a classroom, but you will also be equipped during a 2 1/2 months outreach to another continent!

Please note: You must be at least 18 years old or you can join us if you have completed high school at age 17.

How does a DTS look like?

So how does a DTS look like? There is a 12 week lecture phase and 10-12 weeks outreach to another country. You can expect to engage in 12 weeks of lectures with topics such as “The Nature and Character of God”, “Holy Spirit”, “Biblical Worldview”, “Identity”, “Fear of the Lord”, Hearing Gods Voice”, “Missions” and more! You’ll learn how to share the gospel with others, you’ll spend time in worship and intercession, join a small group and serve practically in different ways, all while living together in community. During the “Outreach Phase” you will get the opportunity to apply all that you have learned, in another part of the world for 10 weeks with the goal of “Making God Known”.

The last 2 weeks of the school we want to walk with you, to see how your next step is going to look like. In that way we want to prepare you to go back home and serve in your own church, or we can help you to take the next step by looking into more training relevant for your situation. Or you could even come back as staff and help grow our pioneering location and activities.

DTS YWAM Rotterdam with a focus track?

A DTS with a focus track means that you will spend around 5 hours per week combining your talent or favorite activity with missions. Although our name represents our nearest city, our DTS will run in a rural environment famous for its kitesurf place: Brouwersdam. So we are looking into implementing a Kitesurf&adventure track in our DTS. At the same time we are looking into possibilities such as a music/ worship track, a dance track and a sports track!

Each track or focus has its own flavour but all focus on knowing God and making Him known, so whichever option we will have available in the near future, and whichever option you choose: you’ll be sure to encounter God and enjoy an incredible DTS experience! In January we will have the application forms online and in February we know which ‘flavour(s)’ you can choose from. Just want to do a classic DTS without a flavour? Location, dates and costs

Dates: 22 September 2025 – 14 March 2026
Location: Brouwersdam, the Netherlands*

*Although our name represents our nearest city, our DTS will run in a rural environment. Every week we will have outreach to the city of Rotterdam.

Costs for the DTS:
€ 2800 for the lecture phase
€ 2.900,00 – € 3.500,00* for the outreach phase

*Prices are subject to change and can vary greatly on prices of flights to our outreach destinations. The exact price will be made known during the lecture phase.

Costs for the lecture phase include: enrollment fee, course deposit, tuition, food and accommodation.
Additional to this cost will be your medical insurance needed while being in the Netherlands. It does not include visa costs or personal expenses such as toiletries, laundry, snacks, postage, additional travel costs in your free time etc. Also the DTS fees do not include your transportation to and from YWAM Rotterdam. At last: be aware that each track or focus as mentioned above also will have additional costs, except for the music DTS. We’ll let you know when we know more.

Costs for outreach – This fee covers all of the expenses incurred whilst being on outreach. Airfares, all meals, transportation, insurances and ministry costs are all included in this fee. More questions? Send us an email and/or request a zoom call.
